Great day today.
Started to the running regime again, and didn’t do too badly for 4 or 5 days off. I’ve decided I’m going to keep the rest of this week’s running casual and next week I’m going to ramp it up. I always find that about 10 minutes after I’m done I could’ve pushed for so much more, not sure if it laziness or boredom, maybe I should start listening to some tunes.
Had another good skype chat with T today. She has a new photography assignment, which I find very interesting. The random topic assigned to her was simply “New and Old” so basically she has to take a minimum of 200 photos that involve that topic somehow and then dwindle that down to her three best for submission. We had a good long chat about it, she really wants to take it to the creative edge instead of taking an easy way out. I’m definitely excited to see what she comes up with.
Also found out today that two couples with Visa application dates right before ours got approved today, so fingers crossed for us finding out a result soon. God I can’t wait to get back to her.
Had our first public viewing of our house today too and 5 separate groups turned up, which we were told by our agent was good for a first viewing and being a Wednesday night.
Off to bed now but first, the two last episodes of Rubicon, can’t wait!
Tomorrow: more weights and cycling!
I’ve always loved running. Luckily for me I’ve always seemed to be somewhat good at it as well. Recently I have decided to take my casual ‘every now and then’ jogs to the next level. My ultimate goal is to run a marathon, but I’m going to start small. I’ve set myself the goal of running a 5k race by the end of the year. Not only do I want to just run but I want to compete, so after doing some research I have devised a running plan to build up my mileage and also work on my pace. The plan is 6 weeks long with runs on every second day. I didn’t want to go nuts with some ironman routine, the last thing I need is an injury. So by sticking to the plan I should be prepared to compete (and hopefully compete well) by around late October. The good thing is this timeline fits almost perfectly in with my Visa application process which means my first run will hopefully be in Oregon. Maybe I will register for it soon in order to increase my motivation.
Today was he first day and I started with a 2 mile run and I had a time of 16:38 which for a first run I’m pretty happy with.
I think I will put up a copy of my log here somewhere, just need to figure this tumblr business out some more.
My run was really good today. I managed to shave off a minute from Monday’s time which was great considering i didn’t really feel like i was going much faster. After i rinsed off i decided to check my pace with local 5k finishing times and turns out I’m doing pretty damn well in relation. Especially since this is really only the second full week.
After being in such a good mood after the run I managed to motivate myself to tie up a few loose ends which I had subconsciously been putting off. Included was looking in “Bob the photographer” for the wedding, he even threw in an engagement session for free. good job Bob.
T should be home soon.
